Creation Myth

In the Beginning, There was only the beast Oberammergau, The Eternal Hunger, Cremator of the Planes. A great creature of elemental and divine chaos wrapped in a form of black flesh laden heavy with plates of armor, jaws capable of rending entire planets, and claws that left gaping holes in the fabric of reality itself. The ravenous beast prowled through endless worlds, destroying them as he went. It was not until creatures from the lower planes attempted and nearly succeeded in using the beast as a great war engine against there enemies. True that the full power of the beast could not be controlled, but it was nothing to simply lure it to the very gates of ones enemy. The ensuing battle, unfathomable by mortal minds, raged on for millions of years until finally the most powerful beings sacrificed there immortal lives in a final desperate attempt to put down the beast….They succeeded, but only barely.

Oberammergau lay fallen, his body rent into a thousand pieces. Legend says that this great corpse is the very bedrock of this world, a lush green world bore from the black, primordial, havoc that fueled the beast. The divine beings that faced the beast somehow survived, there life force somehow linked to the residual energy that seeped from the corpse of there smote enemy. There forms began to reform, albeit forever altered. The have since appointed themselves stewards and protectors over this new world and the beings that began to appear and thrive on it from agents of the lower planes who still seek any and power that may still be salvaged.

How odd that a creature that killed so many could now provide life and nourishment.
